Garden Lover's Card with Seed Packet

Made this card for a special friend who loves gardening. It's January, so she will have time to plant the seeds indoors if she likes, and transplant to her beautiful garden as soon as the threat of freezing is gone. The seed packet is for pretty purple flowers that will brighten any garden.  This is my first entry to Joan's Gardens, an absolutely wonderful blog where other cardmakers post their lovely work.  Also entering this in February at 365 Cards for a fun challenge there.

The brown background is from a brown paper lunch bag which I embossed with a Spellbinders EL-009 embossing folder. The leaf is from Spellbinders Shapeabilities package, S4-328; the large butterfly is from Spellbinders Grand Shapeabilities, "Wonderful Wings." This card was so much fun to make.

  2. Ginny,
That is a very fine idea with the seed packet. So clever. I have started to ask for paper bags at the stores that still supply bags.
That green sprig and butterfly gives me hope of spring. We are in day8 od -19*F without the windchill. It is nippy.

  3. I use to be able to buy a potted plant of these each year, but Home Depot didn't have them last year. They bloomed their little hearts out. What a happy flower! I love your card and your presentation of the seeds to a friend.
